Carmine’s -Upper West Side

So there’s a rumor that Garfield once flew to NYC from Indiana just to have an Italian Birthday Dinner with Jon and Odie in the early ’90s. Honestly, it wouldn’t surprise me because we all know how much Garfield loves lasagna. Unfortunately, I never heard where the group dined but Carmine’s Italian Restaurant would be where I would bet.

Carmine’s has been around a long time. Since 1990 in fact. That’s certainly no easy feat here in NYC. There are two locations-one in Times Square and one on the Upper West Side. I am choosing to only recommend the Upper West Side because it is not nearly as loud as the Times Square location. I also have personal experience in having a 14-year-old’s Italian Birthday Dinner Celebration at the UWS restaurant.

To begin with, the teens had their own table and the family-style Italian dining was a hit. I chose to sit at another table and observe from afar so the kids could have some independence. Because I had planned with the restaurant beforehand the waitstaff took special care in making sure the kids felt empowered during their dining experience. Markedly, there is a nice clean, friendly, old-school ambiance to Carmines. Definitely, a place that Kids and adults can talk and hear each other with no problem. Sometimes that’s hard to find nowadays.

Additionally, we had a teen in a wheelchair attend and it was a plus that all dining areas were wheelchair accessible. The birthday dessert was huge and made quite the impression on the table because of its magnitude and glorious presentation. All in all Carmine’s Italian Restaurant is a great place to go for a family celebration of any kind or just a random Tuesday. Private rooms are available and they have a very descriptive website that you can check out below. By the way, The Times Square Location may be just as wonderful. I am only going off my experience. Divertiti, Arrivederci!

Buffalo Wild Wings- Times Square -Theater District

birthday in times square buffalo wild wings

How about a Birthday Party in Times Square? Buffalo Wild Wings will be happy to host your shindig. Obviously everyone loves Chicken Wings and BWW has some of the best ones out there. Not to mention all the varieties of flavors and sauces they offer.

We really enjoy this location for several reasons. First, it’s a good size for a NY restaurant. It has a nice large room in the back that you can request to be seated in or even have your birthday celebration. The area is open and people can see inside but it’s still separated. There is plenty of room for a decent size group and space for kids to move freely. Clean and Friendly Staff. There are several TV’s high above that will keep kids engaged if that is important to you.

In addition, the entire restaurant is wheelchair accessible and not too loud. Given that I took two tween boys with Autism and they loved every minute. Furthermore, We ended up ordering a second round of wings for all of us. They are that good. Now for my favorite part. Their Blazin Rewards program will give you an order of FREE wings every year for your Birthday! Not only that if you get the APP on your phone you can play games, order online, and earn points. Of course, you get even more points every time you dine in. Easily sign up by providing your phone number in the APP. Although they ask for the number, they are not going to call you. It’s just an easy way for them to keep track of your points.

All things considered, if you’re trying to decide where to have your Birthday Party in Times Square, BWW fits the bill. Especially if you are a tween, teen, or young adult. Also, a great place to have a bite before or after a Broadway Show.

By the way, if someone is not a fan of wings, they have other menu options. If you want to check out their rewards program just click below.

Whenever you tell them what teams you root for you get an additional 50 pts. immediately!

Oh and I’ll take an extra side of ranch sauce, please.
